The EndoPilot BackFill Pistol is used to heat and deliver gutta percha at a set temperature and flow rate. In keeping with all of the other components that make up the EndoPilot there are a range of practical design elements to ensure effective use.
pistol design
The BackFill Pistol is a traditional 'gun type' design that is easy to use, comfortable to hold and provides a greater level of tactile feedback for the user. The ergonomic hand grip is designed to ensure that it can be used effortlessly without causing fatigue or stress.
control
The BackFill Pistol is controlled in 2 ways; the temperature is set and activated through the EndoPilot touch screen and the gutta percha is extruded by pulling the pistol trigger. As with all of the EndoPilot components, control is simple and appropriate for use.
heat reduction
The BackFill Pistol is designed to ensure that heat is not transmitted through to the patient. It does this by incorporating a heat resistant teflon band that isolates the heating coil. Generated heat is further reduced by the placement of a clear plastic heat guard over the nozzle. A proven and simple design for effective results.
Needle tips
There are 3 different needle sizes available for the BackFill Pistol; 25Ga, 23Ga and 20Ga. These 3 sizes are designed to fully cover all of the possible tip requirements for warm gutta percha obturation of the root canal space. The needle tips are very flexible and can be pre bent to help with visibility and placement.
